Alton Towers Resort is the UK's leading short break resort, offering as it does an unrivalled selection of attractions for the whole family to enjoy together. There's something for the everyone, with tons of terrific rides, amazing live shows, and weird and wonderful costume characters. The Alton Towers Waterpark is a heated oasis of fun for all the family, and is available to everyone. This Caribbean lagoon is open all year round.
Dovedale is the gateway to the South Peak District National Park. Owned by the National Trust, Dovedale is a dramatic limestone ravine famous for its stunning scenery, wildlife and the much-loved stepping stones which cross the River Dove - itself famous as a favourite haunt of Isaac Walton, author of 'The Complete Angler'
The Manifold Valley and Cycle trail winds its way through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Peak District National Park. The trail for both cycling and walking closely follows the rivers Manifold and Hamps, and runs from Waterhouses to Hulme End, a distance of 9 miles. The trail uses the route of the disused Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway and it is a very even route with no gradients and is surfaced throughout its length, so it is ideally suited for walking, cycling, wheelchair users, buggies, prams or people with limited mobility
Whether your preferences lie with an activity-based holiday such as walking, cycling, climbing or visiting Alton Towers, or to explore our local history and geology, or to simply relax in a beautifully peaceful rural location, make Rue Hill Camping and Caravan Park one of your essential places to visit this year.
